There are numerous ways parents, friends, and fans can support Warren County Wrestling.
Each year the wildcats must raise funds to be competative as one of the top teams in Virginia wrestling. Funds are used
for travel, food, warm ups, and state of the art equipment.
SUPPORT DRIVE
Here are some ways you can help:
-
Donations - Monetary donations as well
as donations of food (during the season) are great ways to help the program. Items Such as Gatorade, Water, Gram Crackers,
Ceral Bars, Boost, Jams, Honey, Peanut Butter, paper plates, and napkins are needed.
-
Sponsors - Wildcat wrestling is currently looking for business and people to sponsor the 2008/2009 season.
Your business name will appear on the sponsors page as well as in the program as a thank you.
-
Wildcat Fundraiser - This
December the Wildcats are doing a "Takedown a thon" and "Lift a Thon" to raise money for travel. The wrestlers will
get donations and complete a number of Lifts or takedowns. Sponsoring one of the wrestlers is a great way to help -
please keep a lookout for the wrestlers this December.
-
Volunteers - The wildcats
are looking for volunteers to help for the concession stands and hospitality rooms during the season.

WVU TEAM CAMP
This years 1st ever WC team camp traveled to West Virginia University for
a 5 day camp June 28th - July 2nd. The camp was a huge success with great sessions of technique each day, live dual
matches each night, and great team building games such as ultimate frisbee on Mountaineer field.
The team was guided by some of the best camp clinicians in the country
such as: Greg Jones (3 X National Camp), Vertius Jones, (2 X National Runner up), Whitey Chlevoe (National Champ), Sam
Kline (NCAA All American), Jim Akerly (NCAA All American), and Scott Collins (National Champ). Each day was filled with high
energy sessions of great technique that will be vital for the wrestlers next season. Almost all of the coaches also presented
a story of how they got to be a D 1wrestler and what it takes to be successful in wrestling and in life.
The dual competition was tough - the team faced teams from FL, PA, NY,
WV, and VA. In the dual competition Jeremy Robinson shined going a perfect 4-0 (losing only 1 match all camp in an exhibition).
David Raudenbush, and Spencer Bunce followed with 4-2 records while Ben Bowser and Corey Zimmerman came out in tough wieghtclasses
both 2-2 .
In the takedown competition Jared Moore finished with a 3rd place
and Spencer Bunce with a 4th. While Stuart Eshelman had a great performace in a tough weightclass almost medaling.
In the ultimate frisbee and dodgeball tournaments it was a new
face - Ryan Molka who helped the team grab 3rd and 5th place team points along with Cody Zimmerman who alway seemed to be
in mix. Dimitri Hare and Robert Canby were the only Junior High wrestlers to participate but both show big gains and
produced points for the team.
In all the whole team did well and the kids had a great time.
We will be mounting another trip to WVU next year.
