Fri/Sat! - The Region II tournament will be held this Friday and Saturday
at Kettle Run High School. Itinerary and Directions now posted on the varsity link. The wildcats will send
10 wrestlers to compete - Go Cats!

Cats - Home this Sunday! Help Needed! - Congrats to the Mat Cats youth club who participated
in their match this Sunday at James Wood. Their next match will be home Sunday Feb 12 at Warren
County High School/ All info for the match will be posted online and will be handed out at Tuesday’s/Thursday's
practice. We will need lots of help, setting up mats running tables, and concessions. There will be sign up sheets this
week during practice!

Information Now posted on Coach's Corner! - The Warren County Wrestling Banquet is schedule for Feb
28th -6pm at Shenandoah Valley Golf Course. All info is located on the coach's corner link. It is for all wrestlers
grades 6-12.
Wildcats Advance 10 to Regions, Crown Canby District Camp! -
The Varsity team competed in the Evergreen District Tournament this past Saturday
at Fauquier High School. The Cats took 3rd place as a team, and advanced 10 wrestlers to the Region II tournament this Fri/Sat
at Kettle Run. The crown Robert Canby 2012 District Champ and had 5 wrestlers become Runners Up - Kyle Montague,
Josh Newman, Jacob Hill, Jeffrey Budwash, and Zach Poehler. The Cats also qualified Joey Souza (3rd), Terrace Thompson
(3rd), Travis Bowling (4th), and Dylan Ross (4th). Itinerary and Directions now posted on the Varsity link. Good Luck at Regions
Wildcats!
- Varsity goes 4-0 at WC Scramble to end regular season! - Congrats go out to the Varsity team who finsihed the regular season going 4-0 - defeating Loudoun Valley, Dominion,
Central and George Mason. The Scramble format had to be changed due to a last minute cancelation, but
turned out to be a big success. The Cats finished behind Millbrook who won the tournament going 5-0. The Varsity
will compete in the Evergreen District Tournament next Saturday at Fauquier High School. Great Job Cats!
- Barisciano becomes JV Super
Regional Champ, Patricio, Riggs, and Banzhof all place - the Junior Varsity
traveled to Skyline HighSchool this past Friday & Saturday for the JV Super Regional Tournament. The tournament was a
two day event that included over 400 wrestlers from accross the state. The Wildcats took 16 wrestlers and posted
a great performance. Eric Sadler, Noah Jacobs, Jacob Carr, and Josh Laravie, all reached day 2 in the round of 12 before
exiting. Jacob Schneider (only in 8th grade) looked to be a placewinner until a knee injury forced him out. Cody
Banzhof was the first to place taking a hard fought 7th, followed by McKenzie Riggs who took 4th. Oseas Patricio then
picked up a Bronze medal with a fantastic 3rd place finish. To end the night Tyler Barisciano came back from a 4 point deficit
to capture gold and become the Cats only 2012 JV regional Champ! Congratualtions to Tyler, the placewinners, and the entire
2012 JV team for a fantastic performance.
- Congrats to the Middle School
Wrestling Team - Congrats to the Middle School Wrestling Team on a fantastic Season!
The Cats became 2012 NVJL Runners Up. All placewinners now posted on the Middle School link.

Varsity Defeats Skyline, Mat Cats and Middle
School all win on same Night - the Varsity team, Middle School Team, and
Mat Cats Team all wrestled this past Tuesday night at Skyline High School. The Mat Cats Began the night with a
36-24 dual win over the cross town raptors. The Middle School then defeated Johnson Williams 70-36, and finally the
Varsity Cats defeated Skyline for the 2nd year in a row by a score of 34-31. Congrats to all Warren County Wrestlers
- at all levels. Great Night Cats!
- Congrats to JV -
congrats to the JV team who hit two varsity squads at the Clarke Co tri this past Thursday. The
Cats lost to Clarke and Martinsburg in close matches but got great Varsity experience and mat time - Great job Cats
- Senior Night - Varsity defeats Kettle Run - the Varsity
defeated Kettle Run this past Wednesday 47-25. The night included honoring the 5 Seniors before the match - Kyle
Montague, Joey Souza, Matt Baer, Robert Canby, and Travis Bowling. Congratulations to all the seniors on a great Night!
- Varsity rebounds to take 2nd at
Ram Duals - the Varsity traveled to Strasburg for the Ram Duals this past Saturday Dec 14. The Cats started with
Clarke County in a familiar position down 30-9, but unlike last week the cats rallied back to win 37-36. The Cats
then knocked off Harrisonburg, Madison, and Bishop O Connell to make it to the finals. The Cats came
up 1 point short losing to Strasburg 37-36 in the last match with a gutsy performance becoming the 2012 Rams Duals runner
up. The Cats are at home this Monday - senior night - vs Kettle Run.
- Varsity Splits at Liberty Tri - the Varisty traveled
to Liberty for a District Match this past Wednesday. The Cats lost to Fauquier 53 to 21 but defeated Libert 61-16.
It was a good night of tough wrestling for the team. The JV traveled to Strasburg for a round robin on Tuesday, and
although there was no team score came out with over 25 individual wins. great job to both teams!
- Varsity takes 6th at the Jefferson Duals - the
Varsity traveled to Jefferson, WV for the JIT invitational this Friday and Saturday. The Cats went 2-1 on the first
day to make it to the winners pool. With 2 starters out and an injury on the
second day, the wildcats lost to finish at the bottom of the pool. The team rallied together to wrestle tough with 3
out of 5 matches one individual match away from winning. Congrats on a great effort Cats!
- Varsity splits at Brentsville Tri - the Varsity wrestled two
tough matches this past Wednesday to pull out a split at Brentsville tri. The cats knocked off Woodbridge to open the
night but lost a hard-fought match to Brentsville. Great job Cats
- Mat Cats - 1st Match this Sunday- the the Mat Cats
first match is this Sunday. Itinerary and directions will be handed out at practice and posted online now

- Varsity posts 6 placewinners at Kiwanis Tournament- The
Varsity team traveled to PA for the 34th annual Kiwanis Tournament. The Cats finished 7th out of 23 teams tied for its
best finish (only 1pt from 6th place). The Wildcats put 3 in the finals which they had never done before. Terrace
Thompson, Kyle Montague, and Robert Canby all became 2011 Runners up with great 2nd place finishes. Joey Souza and Jeffery
Budwash finished fourth and Zach Poehler finished 7th. Great tournament Cats!
- JV gets 4 placewinners at Mason Tournament - The JV traveled to
George Mason to participate in a Varsity Christmas tournament. The wildcats were the youngest team there but wrestled
great posting 3 place winners - Tyler Barisciano became 2011 runner up with a great 2nd place finish. Dylan Ross, Oseas
Patricio, and Josh Laravie followed with 3rd place finishes. It was a great effort by the whole team at such a tough
event.
- Varsity Wrestling - 2011 Raider Duals Champs! -
The Varsity became the 2011 raider duals champions this past Saturday Dec 17 at Loudoun County. The Cats down starters
due to injuries came together a second week in a row to go 5-0. The Cats defeated Heritage, Briar Woods, Loudoun Co,
RE Lee (Springfield), and a comeback win over Clarke Co to win the title. Team picture now up on photo album link and
scores on schedule link. Varsity is off until the Kiwanis Tournament, Pa (Dec 28-30). Congratulation to the
team - what an effort!
- JVs Return from Broad Run with medals! - The JV traveled
to Broad Run this past weekend for an individual tournament and came home with 6 medals! Oseas Patricio became the lone
champ at 113lbs but other medalists include Tyler Barisciano -2nd, Josh Laravie -2nd, Jacob Carr, Noah Jacobs, and Ki Kanavel
- all 4th. Congrats to those wrestlers and all the JVs who wrestled tough this weekend. The JV is back in action
this Tuesday at home!
- Warren County Duals - Results - The Varsity and JV
had a great home opener this Saturday for the WC Duals. The Varsity team went 5-0 defeating William Monroe, Stonewall
Jackson, Jefferson, WV, Oakton, and Monticello. The team suffered a few injuries but rallied together
to win the duals and avenge the tie from last week's Turner Ashby duals vs. Monticello. The JV had a great day of mat time
and although did not have a team score racked up over 30 individual victories. The Varsity will be at Loudoun Co Duals this
Saturday and the JV will be at the Broad Run Tournament. - Great job Cats!
- 1st Home Middle School Match a win - and thisTuesday and Tournament
Results - The Middle School had its home opener Nov 6th and came up with a big win against Johnson Williams. The
Middle School also held its 2nd annual wildcat tournament - results are now posted on the middle school link. Congrats
to Jacob Schneider the Cats 2011 Champ and all the place winners - great job boys!
- TA Duals and Handley JV Results!- Congrats
to the JV and Varsity and JV for a great weekend of wrestling. The Varsity traveled to Turner Ashby and without 3 starters
came out with a 3-2 record. The wildcats defeated Fluvanna, Central, and Rappahannock and lost to TA. The cats
tied Monticello but lost on the criteria of pins. The JV traveled to Handley for their first duals of the season.
Although there was no team scores all the cats got a great day of wrestling and mat time. The cats should be back
to full strength and are home this weekend at the WC Duals. Itinerary will be posted on Monday - Come on out this
weekend and support the Wildcats! (scores are posted on this page and the results link)
- Congratulations to Rodger Seemiller and Eric Hawes who enter the WCHS
Hall of Fame this year- Congrats to Coach Seemiller and alumni Eric Hawes who will enter the Warren
County Sports Hall of Fame during halftime of the Oct 7th football game vs. Liberty. Coach Seemiller took over as head
coach in 1999 and guided the cats to one of the top programs in the state. Seemiller holds the most coaching wins
in wildcats history with 182 and had 5 team district championships, 1 region championship, and 15 all state wrestlers.
Eric was the wildcats sole state champion in 2001 along with 3 region titles and 3 district titles. Eric still holds
record of pins in a season and career and tournament titles. Congratulations to both wildcats and make sure you make
it out to celebrate on Oct 7th at WCHS.
- NEW WEIGHT CLASSES 2011-2012 - The NFHS
(National
Federation of State High School Associations) ruled a change in the High School weight classes for 2011 -2012.
The new weight classes will be 106,113,120,126,132,138,145,152,160,170,182,195,220,and 285. This is the first major
change in the weights in over 20 years and will be in effect for next season!
